And its still not done, but it works!! !
Everything in its working position. Shown here are the additional Beseler heads, light table, Technal print dryer, and Cosar 73 transmission densitometer. The entire workspace is kept at a perfect 74 Degrees Fahrenheit, at an absolute 40% humidity. A rolling work table that separates the wet from dry side has shelving that stocks paper and is a general work and cutting surface.

Other equipment seen here are a Beseler PM2M analyzer, Hacker exposure meter, Saunders easel, Condenser and Computerized Dichro 45 heads, Fisher Scientific pH meter for developers, water temperature mixer, and the usual array of timers and other goodies. The most used chemicals are set in array within the sink so that trays or tanks are simply dropped in front of them. Cold water is filtered as it enters the house system, and along with hot supply is filtered again at the wet side. The dangly yellow thing is a compressed air line with 20 psi filtered air to a nozzle. Office is on the other side of the partition wall. |

The “magic
lantern”. The meters are used to set
approximations in paper grade and rough-in exposure. Fine tuning is done the old fashioned
way. The three lenses in the turret
match the formats I am working in, 35mm, 6x6, and 4x5. They are EL-Nikkor 50mm & 150mm, and
Schneider Componon-S 80mm. |
So, why bother? Continued on the next page.
